Taking care of HR and Health & Safety for Care and Nursing

Park City's expertise cover business sectors such as Care and Medical, Education, Construction & manufacturing, Hospitality & Leisure and the Service sector.

We tailor our services to meet the individual sectors needs. The Care and Medical sector is an area that finds itself facing ever changing Human Resources and Health & Safety legislation. Keeping up with these changes is a full time job in itself, to see how we can help read our article from the Care & Nursing Essential magazine.

Taking care of HR and Health & Safety

For small to medium sized care and nursing homes complying with human resources and health and safety legislation is a full-time job in itself that is without providing quality care to residents and their families.
It is essential to have the business side of the operation running smoothly – and that’s where Park City Consulting can provide you with peace of mind.
Established in 1997 by experienced HR professional Juliet Price, Park City was launched to fulfil a gap in the market that Juliet had identified. She found she was regularly being asked for advice by small to medium businesses that did not have all the necessary HR expertise in-house.
At the top of her profession and with 17 years of success since launching Park City, there are not many queries and business issues that Juliet has not encountered.
Park City’s highly trained HR and Health and Safety team provides a wide range of support services and professional advice to care home owners and managers to ensure they are meeting all the necessary legal requirements.
Wendy Twydell, Sales & Marketing Manager at Park City said,
“Park City’s unique selling point centres on the quality of the client relationships it has developed over the years. Our services are tailored to the individual needs of each client. Each business we work with will have a one to one meeting with Juliet Price to create a bespoke service. Whether a client needs someone to cast an expert eye over a contract of employment or would prefer to outsource their entire HR and Health and Safety portfolio, Park City is able to tailor its services for individual clients.”
All retained clients have their own designated consultant who can visit the care home on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis and initially look at everything from staff handbooks, appraisal systems and job descriptions to fire safety procedures, risk assessments, and training needs.
Alternatively businesses can simply cherry pick one or two services to make life easier and benefit from Park City’s advice and expertise.
The social care sector is an extremely diverse and fast moving environment. Many small to medium sized care homes are dedicated to prioritising the quality of their care services. To do this, as well as meeting all the demands of running a small business can easily over stretch resources.
Park City regularly update their wide range of services. Recently, in response to requests from clients they added food hygiene and first aid to the list, to name but a few and they are now able to deliver this training to your staff.
As well providing consultancy services to the medical sector, including care and nursing homes, Park City has the expertise to meet the needs of schools, construction and manufacturing industries and the
hospitality and leisure sectors.
With a turnover of £1.3m Park City, has all the necessary experience and expertise a smaller business may be lacking in-house or not have the time to organise as effectively as they may desire. All clients, whether large or small, will benefit from the same level of expertise.
Wendy Twydell also said:
“As a retained client it can also be extremely cost effective to outsource HR services to Park City. There are no additional or hidden costs for clients with an agreed Service Level Agreement – SLA. Park City is there for all those who need totally professional HR services; help with a one-off project or more specialised support to meet Health and Safety requirements. Training can be provided either at our Training Suite in Colchester, on your premises or for more flexibility, we now have online training.”
Juliet Price is the founder and managing director of award winning human resource and health & safety business, Park City Consulting, employing 28 people based in Colchester, Essex.
She is a former winner of the IoD’s East of England Businesswoman of the Year Award. A past Chairman of the Essex branch of the Institute of Directors, IoD.
In 1995 Juliet was asked to join the Board as a non-executive director for Ixion Holdings Limited, a not-for-profit organisation that is part of the £140m Anglia Ruskin University, ARU, delivering government funded provision since 1995.
